Woollahra Townhouse

RODA was engaged to undertake alterations to an existing apartment in Woollahra, with the works focused on improving the internal layout, circulation and connection between spaces.

The architectural intervention involved the selective removal of existing walls and reconfiguration of the apartment to create a more open and connected living environment. Enlarged openings between the living, dining and kitchen areas improve movement through the home while retaining a sense of definition between each space.

A key element of the design is the new glazed door and window assembly to the study. Its curved geometry responds to the apartment’s existing architectural character, introducing a contemporary element that sits comfortably alongside the original detailing while allowing natural light to pass between spaces.

The result is a more generous and cohesive plan, achieved through a series of considered alterations that work with the character of the existing apartment.
